FATHER’S DAY GIFT IDEAS

Anyone else find it so difficult to buy gifts for men? I always want to put a personal touch on a gift but Father’s Day is like mass advertisement for beer, favorite sports teams and golf. How much Yankees or Giants stuff do you really want your man wearing? Does Dad really need another golf shirt or tie? Sorry but how boring.

I’m lucky in the regard that Erik likes to shop. He cooks. Actually I should say he cooks EVERY night for me. He likes to golf. This makes it pretty easy to shop for him. KIMONO AND RIPPED JEANS

I’ll start off with a warning here…..these jeans are not going to be for everyone. You will either love them or hate them. I have gotten looks by people and I know they are thinking, “did this girl actually pay for these ripped jeans?” The answer is yes I actually did. This brings us back to this post where I talked about how I love ripped jeans and I can honestly blame my obsession for them on my mom for not letting me wear them when I was younger. Sorry Mom. I know these jeans aren’t your favorite pair and maybe I’m the only one that likes them, but the moral of this rant is wear what makes you feel good! This is something that plays into my little blogging journey. Everyday I have the same questions and fears. What will people think of this outfit? Does this even look good? Is this too over the top? Is this too ordinary? Bottom line is do you feel good in it? If so then wear it! I’m not saying go out there and look ridiculous but if you have a pair of jeans that make you feel good go ahead and wear them. If you have a bright, bold top flaunt it. Just pair these items with subdued pieces. Don’t always worry about what others will think. Embrace what makes you feel good! Happy Monday! I have been getting a lot of requests for some beauty posts so thought I would start off with my hair must have products that I use on a daily basis. I am a big believer in using quality hair products in order to have healthy, happy locks. My hair is long and I work out daily so I put a good amount of stress on my hair. Ok who’s with me? You find that perfect shirt when you are out shopping and you hang it front and center in your closet but you don’t wear it because you are saving it for that special occasion? Weeks and weeks go by (sometimes months) and the prized shirt is still hanging there because you just didn’t have the right event to wear it to. YUP! This was one of those shirts! I actually got 3 of those “can’t wait to wear” shirts this season. You already saw two of them here and here. This was the final one! MUST HAVE SUMMER SANDALS

SUMMER! It’s official! Memorial Day weekend kicks off my favorite season of the year. Someone who names their daughter Summer is obviously a warm weather lover! For me summer is the beach, swimming, late nights outside sipping margaritas, maxi dresses on repeat and open toe sandals until at least the end of September. While I love flip flops because let’s face it, they are easy and comfortable, there are so many must have sandals to add to your closet this summer. I thought it would be fun to do a shoe roundup showing you the ones I couldn’t live without. These are the ones you’ll see on House of Leo Blog all season long.
