By far my most popular style of denim that I’ve been sharing lately have been baggy jeans. They also are my favorite style to wear as they just add a little bit of edge and they are so comfortable. Being they such a hot topic I’d thought I’m make this easy and show you how to style baggy jeans all in 1 post! The pairs I’m styling are affordable and come in lengths.
LEFT PAIR (4 X-SHORT) | RIGHT PAIR (2 X-SHORT)
These are the 2 pairs of jeans I’ll be styling today for how to style baggy jeans. These have been top sellers for weeks. Both are made from a dreamy drape fabric that is crazy soft. The right pair has a pull tab so you can adjust the waist. Best part is that both these styles come in x-short, short, regular and tall inseams. I’m 5’2 and the x-short length was perfect and didn’t require me to cut the hem at all.
I’ll actually rehare a reel I did this past week breaking down how to style them as well.
BODYSUITS WITH BAGGY JEANS
JEANS (2 X-SHORT) | BODYSUIT (CODE TAMMYXSPANX) | SNEAKERS
My rule of thumb when it comes to how to style baggy jeans is to create a waistline. Being we are dealing with more fabric on our bottom half we want to either tuck in our tops or do a front tuck to create some balance. Bodysuits style perfectly with baggy jeans for this reason.
DATE NIGHT WITH MOTO JACKET AND BAGGY JEANS
JEANS (2 X-SHORT) | MOTO JACKET (SMALL)
You can take that same bodysuit idea and then just add a moto jacket and some heels and they become the perfect date night jean that bring a little drama. Plus I just love how they lay with a nice heel.
SWEATSHIRTS AND BAGGY JEANS
JEANS (2 X-SHORT) | SWEATSHIRT (SMALL) | SNEAKERS
For a more casual look just wear them with sweatshirts. BUT I prefer to either to do a front tuck or do a more cropped style to help balance out the look.
TAILORED WITH A BUTTON DOWN
JEANS (2 X-SHORT) | BUTTON DOWN (SMALL) | BELT (XS) | SANDALS (ALSO HERE)
And who knew but you could totally elevate and make baggy jeans look classic and polished by adding a button down. I LOVE how this came together for a tailored look. Add a belt and some platforms to really complete the look. BTW platforms go so nicely with baggy jeans.
STYLE WITH LONGER LAYERS
JEANS (4 X-SHORT) | COATIGAN (SMALL) | TEE (SMALL) | SNEAKERS
Still stuck on how to style baggy jeans? Just toss them on with graphic tees or tanks and then elevate it with a long cardigan, coatigan or even a kimono as we move into the warmer seasons. My advice is just tuck in the tee or tank especially with something longer worn over.
This is just a small post on some of my personal favorite ways to style baggy jeans right now. These will become one of my go to summer jeans as well. Thrown on with flip flops and a beachy sweater – they just scream summer nights! Hope this was helpful and that you take the plunge and try a pair of baggy jeans. I’m telling ya – once you embrace them they are such a fun style to wear. I’ll be back over the weekend with my weekly edit. If you missed last week’s you can find it here.
