There’s been a lot of new additions this season in the denim shorts departments. I figured I’d break them all down by price point, style and fit. Some favorites didn’t make the cut only because they are sold out (BUMMER) but do not fret. The 8 top denim shorts of the season I’m about to show you are all so so good. BEST SPLURGE PAIR – AGOLDE PARKER SHORTS
AGOLDE PARKER SHORTS | TANK | SANDALS
This pair easily makes the very top of my top denim shorts of the season. I showed you these styled in this blog post. They are an investment, yes. However, they truly are worth the splurge. As I’ve said a million times about my Agolde jeans they just get better and better with each wash and wear. These are a true high quality denim, button fly and tasteful distressing (if that is such a thing). In other words, they aren’t sloppy looking.

I’ve had my other Agolde denim shorts for years and each year I love them more and more. This pair above I sized down to a 24 and they are still roomy and relaxed. Compared to the Riley shorts which you will see next this style is shorter.
BEST FOR ATHLETIC BUILDS – AGOLDE RILEY SHORTS

I showed you this new splurge in this blog post on Sunday. This would be my 2nd most recommended pair in my top denim shorts of the season. The longer, relaxed denim is a huge trend right now and these ones I found to be my favorite. As previously mentioned, I tried the Agolde Parker long shorts but didn’t love them as much as this style. These just fit nice and relaxed through the leg making them a great option for athletic thighs and those looking for more room in the leg.

These too are button fly and true denim. If you loved the Riley jeans from my past Evereve posts then you are sure to fall head over heels for the Riley shorts. This style I went with my true size 25.
BEST UNDER $70 – FREE PEOPLE MAKAI SHORTS

Not sure if it’s the price, the fit or the fact that it’s Free People for under $70 but the Free People Makai shorts are beloved by everyone who tries them. In fact they are tough to keep in stock! They are a true denim but still have a soft, relaxed fit. Completely flattering on everyone I’ve seen style these too. This color is called Playa Paradisio and I believe it might be sold out but they also come in a vintage blue. This pair I do size up to a 26. BEST WHITE DENIM – FREE PEOPLE MAKAI SHORTS

I didn’t get much white denim yet this year but my guess is that the same ol Free People Makai shorts in white would make my top denim shorts of the season. Reason being they aren’t white white. They are more like an ivory which I personally find more flattering. Same as with the previous pair — wearing a 26.
BEST FIGURE FLATTERING PAIR – KUT FROM THE KLOTH JANE SHORTS

I got this pair pretty early in the season as I had a feeling they would fly off the shelves. For one they are a great price point. They also flatter almost all body types too and aren’t too long or too short. They are high rise, stretch to comfort but don’t bag out and are another relaxed fit. Mine are from Evereve and I’m pretty sure they are low stock but I also am linking them at Kut From The Kloth and they have other colors to also choose from.
BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK – ABERCROMBIE DENIM SHORTS

I get it. We all don’t have the budget for Agolde or we just can’t fathom paying $100+ on denim shorts. If you are looking for the most bang for your buck I’d highly suggest this pair from Abercrombie. Under $60 and true denim as in no stretch.
ABERCROMBIE DENIM SHORTS | SWEATSHIRT | SANDALS
They don’t fit as good as Agolde if we really compare them but for the denim quality and the price I think they are a great pair. Take note — these are a mid rise cut. I prefer my bottoms more high rise but these are my favorite for mid rise cuts.
BEST UNDER $50 – RED DRESS BOUTIQUE DENIM SHORTS

Actually surprised these are still in stock! I got these during last month’s Red Dress Boutique haul and totally expected them to sell out. These are really, really good for only $42. Love the denim quality and high rise fit. Only thing is I’d suggest sizing up 2 sizes in them. I am wearing a 26 but would’ve preferred them in a 27.
BEST BARGAIN PAIR – TARGET DENIM SHORTS

Final pair in my top denim shorts of the season is this pair from Target. And ladies — they are a steal for $15 and $15 well spent! I’m telling ya that they are worth much more than the price tag.

They come in a couple washes and they have some stretch, zipper fly (for those who hate button fly) and are a great length. The picture with the yellow top kinda made them look gray but they are a very light acid wash better seen above. Size up in this pair. I’m wearing a size 4.
