I cannot believe back to school is a little over a month away for us. Savoring every carefree summer day but also starting to remind my little Summer that a new school year is upon us. That means new lessons to be learned and of course back to school shopping with Stage Stores.
Being the daughter of a fashion blogger definitely has it’s perks, doesn’t it Summer? We are bonded over many things but my favorite passion I share with Summer is our shared love of fashion. With each passing year her love of trends, styling and accessorizing grows deeper. She understands that styling is more than putting an outfit together. It’s a form of self expression.
Back to school shopping always includes clothes, shoes and accessories from Stage Stores. If you have been an HOLB follower for awhile now then you know that we love Stage Stores for all their affordable clothes, home goods, shoes, accessories and more for the entire family.
With well known brands at incredible prices I never have a problem stocking up Summer’s closet with the latest trends and must have essentials.
I remember back to school shopping as a little girl and being so excited about new shoes. But let’s face it mamas. SHOES ARE EXPENSIVE! She of course wants well known stylish brands to choose from and Stage Stores always has great prices on the latest Converse shoes.
Add in her Levi’s leggings and Osh Kosh T shirt and she is set for back to school and weekend outfits for an entire season. See what I mean? Stage Stores carries all the best brands!
Of course I am all about the seasonal essentials like denim jackets. This one from Osh Kosh was a steal and another piece she’ll wear for an entire year. She finds denim jackets boring but not when paired with a trendy tulle overall skirt set. It’s all about mixing trends and classics, Summer. That’s what I preach on HOLB daily and my sweet child you understand that important lesson in fashion.
Not only have I taught Summer about fashion and self expression from a young age but I have taught her about the importance in giving back. I tell her everyday to be grateful for all we have but I remind her of those that are less fortunate.
Throughout the rest of the summer Stage Stores is partnering with the No Kids Hungry organization to help raise funds and awareness for childhood hunger. Thirteen million kids in the USA struggle with hunger, over half of public schools students are from low income families and about 22 million rely on free or reduced price school lunches.
I know a successful day in school begins with healthy meals which is why this cause is such an important one. Healthy minds, healthy bodies and full tummies all contribute to our children’s education. Things we take for granted are a challenge for so many others. This cause is a reminder for Summer to think of those less fortunate and understand the importance of giving back.
From July 21st to August 31st Stage will be hosting activations in store and online where you can help them give back to No Kid Hungry. 50% of the retail sales price of No Kid Hungry Back to School items will be donated to No Kid Hungry.
You can also show your support by posting a photo on your Instagram feed. Use the hashtag #FuelKidsFutures and Stage will donate $1.00 to No Kid Hungry (up to $25K). You can find out more about this wonderful campaign here.
Take this back to school shopping season as a time to not only prepare closets for a new school year but as a way to teach your kids about important causes such as this one. When Summer uses her new water bottle it’ll be a daily reminder of what No Kid Hungry means.
Self expression, exploring trends, and lessons in giving back are all things that should be reinforced in our lives and those of our children’s lives all year. It starts with us mamas. Let’s teach them young.
