So my day to day is usually to bring you the latest in fashion and beauty but I also think it’s important as an influencer to bring awareness to other topics that personally mean so much to me. Erik and I were recently invited by NJMOM to visit Children’s Specialized Hospital, a RWJBarnabas Health Facility in New Brunswick, NJ to learn more about the hospital and the services and programs they provide.
With having so many parents who follow my blog and so many of you being from the Tri-State area I think it’s so important to know about all the great things that Children’s Specialized Hospital in New Brunswick offers.
To be honest, this is not the type of hospital I ever want to see anyone have to go to but God forbid you are ever in a situation where your child requires the care I’m about to talk about this is the hospital you want to be at.

What really stood out to us from the moment we walked into the hospital to the time we left was the compassion of every staff member we met. The level of care at Children’s Specialized Hospital is unlike anything I have ever seen.
The hospital has 68 rooms, state of the art equipment, the best doctors and the hospital is filled with beautiful colors. While the setting is a serious one I certainly felt such a sense of warmth every corner I turned.
I did not take a ton of photos of the hospital. There are sick children here and I did not feel it was right to invade their space but I will tell you the hospital is completely updated, immaculate and just a beautiful setting.
What touched me the most was how Children’s Specialized Hospital goes above and beyond for the families that are at the hospital. Many times families are in crisis when they are here and their lives have been completely turned upside down. The hospital has done so much to make families feel as home as possible when they are here.
From a courtesy membership to the local wellness center where parents can workout, relax and shower to having computers available in library spaces so parents can still work remotely — they really have thought of it all.
Children’s Specialized Hospital also has the best resources available to them right in house. We toured where the staff can customize wheelchairs for patients and build items needed to help with rehabilitation. Speaking of rehabilitation the hospital has a state of the art gym for therapy along with an indoor pool. I think having all these resources in house is so important to help the patient reach their full potential.
This campaign really hit close to home for me. My nephew, Randy, was born with cerebral palsy 27 years ago. At the time my sister and brother in law were first time parents and I don’t know that the services offered at Children’s Specialized Hospital were available to them back then. They absolutely could have benefited from the care and compassion of their programs.
As parents, we don’t ever want to imagine our children facing a health challenge but should we ever be faced with having our children need the care of this magnitude Children’s Specialized Hospital is available to us. And while it would absolutely be a scary situation to be in you, can feel confident in the level of care and compassion your child and family would be getting.
It was an eye opening experience for Erik and I to tour Children’s Specialized Hospital and an honor to learn about all the good that is done here. In stressful times it’s hospitals like this that make all the difference in recovery and care.
*Thank you to NJMOM and Children’s Specialized Hospital, a RWJBarnabas Health Facility for sponsoring today’s post. As always, all statements and opinions are my own.
Great to know this facility is available. Thank you
