COMFORTABLE SUMMER NIGHTTIME LOOK

I am sitting here writing this post as another perfect summer weekend comes to an end. Carnival nights with Summer’s school friends, pool and beach time and a Saturday night spent with dear, old friends. All this makes me think about the friendships I’ve had in my life. Some friends have come and gone just because we’ve simply outgrown each other. Others may have drifted but you find your way back to each other and can pick up right where you left off. Others you meet and get close to because of where you are in your life now. Your job, kids, and neighborhood can bring people into your lives that you never otherwise may have met. I realize I have experienced all of these types of friends in my life. Erik and I left our hometown just about 10 years ago and it wasn’t until Friday night when we went to our town’s carnival that we realized we are part of a community now. We have met some amazing friends living here and it feels so good to go out see so many people you know and realize we are a part of someplace.

Speaking of friends, I wore this look for a BBQ at our friend’s house Saturday night. These are friends that have been a part of our lives for a very long time. You know the ones you can reminisce about younger days with, act totally yourself with. Your kids get along great and things are just comfortable and easy.

These harem/joggers are so light and comfortable. I don’t usually wear bold prints, but these ones have such warm colors. Perfect for summer nights. They are a nice change from wearing jeans at night. I usually would wear a cropped top with them but decided to tie the front of a ribbed tank for a change. I finished it off with gold jewelry and gold flip flops. These exact joggers aren’t available anymore, but I linked some others that I’m currently loving.

Hope you all didn’t mind my little tangent about friendships. Maybe it’s the warm weather that just makes me reflect. I’ll leave you with three thoughts:

CHERISH the friends who support you and love you for who are you.

NOURISH the new friends that come into your life and trust in the process of building strong, meaningful relationships with them.

APPRECIATE the friends who you may not be as close to anymore or who you have gone your separate ways from. They were in your life at a time that you needed each other and are forever a part of your story.
